my friend sandi helped me so much when I was hanging at s.i.c.a. ...I couldn't have gotten my show hung without her help....so this is my gift to her...it's just a little thing but she liked one i did a couple years ago..thanks again sandi!!

so this little dress was hand-made by my friend carol pennington...she posted it on facebook and I knew I had to paint it..asked permission..and here it is!!..my impressionistic version of course...picked up my paintings from s.i.c.a. today...we had a very successful show..sold several pieces and really enjoyed meeting the folks there...

Newest Harbor painting...

this is probably 15x15 or 18x18...I need to measure it..i found an old frame and cut a piece of Masonite to fit and then prepared it with several coats of gesso..this will be on its way to Simon's in Georgia..along with several other nautical themed paintings..

so i'm starting to prepare some stuff for my gallery in Georgia...I think they've sold just about everything and they are needing some paintings..this one is done from one of the photographs I took while we were visiting mike and ginny in florida a couple weeks ago...fun I think!..meanwhile..i was so torn watching witchita state play Kentucky...I absolutely hate Kentucky but I also wanted IU to remain the only unbeaten college team...after watching wsu I really liked them..liked the way they play..even liked the coach's wife!!..then Kentucky won! - rats!!!!

so today I parted with one of my favorite pieces...a copy of mary cassatt's "Girl in a Straw Hat"..i loved painting it and will try and paint her again..but the second try is never quite the same...take good care of her, doug...you promised i could come and visit her from time to time!

so yesterday was "tax day"...we arrived home Monday from Arizona where we visited our good friends tim and Katie...had such a good time as usual!!..then spent all day tuesday finalizing our tax stuff..yesterday we went to indy with mike and judy for our annual tax/shopping/dinner outing...finally ate at ocean prime which was absolutely gorgeous!!!...so we arrived home around nine and I checked my mail..got the most pleasant surprise..a fine fellow had purchased my "homage to Elizabeth" from my website.  he's also interested in a painting i have hanging at s.i.c.a..."big city"...and perhaps a few others there..also my "girl in a straw hat" from mary cassatt..also on my website....i love that painting and not sure i'm ready to sell her...but what a thrill to find a sold painting..always a thrill when someone likes your work enough to have it in their home!!! thank you doug!!

In Arizona

Arrived in Scottsdale yesterday to visit our friends tim and katie ...watching the Hoosiers getting ready to lose the first game in the  big ten tourney...so sad...but we're heading to golf as soon as it's over....so that a good thing...I'll post some pix of this beautiful area!
