working on this..i finished a large peony painting but forgot to take a photo..will do that tomorrow..
a daily musing about my family, my life, but mostly about art - how i will try to paint every day - even while my house is falling down around my ears and my five grandchildren are clamoring to paint with me. thank god my husband likes to cook and that he and nellie and ruby, our golden retrievers, have infinite patience. we'll see.....

back home again...and finally back to painting...
so we're home from naples...it was a wonderful trip..warm and sunny and lots of good food and fun...but no dogs allowed on the beach so it doesn't look good for us finding a place to rent there!...working hard to re-enter...mail and paper..phone calls, etc...and I finally got to my studio this afternoon...wanting to do rather a series of zebras...so we'll see.. this guy will need some tweaking tomorrow but i'm having fun with it!

Monday morning...
So we thought yesterday that we would be happy winning one out of three of those games...underdogs in all three...after the Hoosiers pulled it out we may have gotten greedy..especially when the pack was crushing...can't believe they'd threw it way like that..starting with the slide after the interception in the fourth quarter..that set of downs was so crucial and....the rest is history.....and don't even get me started on the colts!!!!!...I guess that just gives me more time to paint when I get home...I am going to try to post our view but not sure i know how...nope...can't do it....

So here we are in Naples...
I just realized I should be taking pics with this iPad and then I can access them and post them here on my blog!!.. We arrived in Naples..Florida not Italy...on Thursday afternoon... Played golf by ourselves yesterday here at the Naples beach and golf club..fun but a bit cold and windy..and then today we played the lely mustang course with a couple of wonderful canooks..one of them a senior champion ...we weren't able to finish our round since we had dinner plans with some IU buddies from indiana...had a great time with them catching up and enjoying a great meal at bayside ...tomorrow it's all about tv viewing...IU at one, packers at three and colts at six thirty...could we possibly go three for three!?!?!?!...stay tuned....

day 4..charlie the dog..
8x8 oil on gallery wrap canvas
so this is day 4..my mom's birthday..we think..although she died in 85, I always think of her especially today..or maybe yesterday..she was never quite sure when her birthday was..she was a trip!! and I miss her dearly!..anyway..this is Charlie..my granddaughter Lucy's other dog..I've already painted rosie for her so this is chalie..lucy will turn double digits on the 8th..(yowsah!!)..I think I might just do a painting for each of my grands' birthdays this year..that might be fun!!...i'm also working on a very large zebra painting...and i'm absolutely loving it!!!!
day three...a commission..
actually this was painted last month..i knew this 30 in 30 challenge was coming up so I think it counts!..this is a commission for my friend ron..these are his three grands..all together at the beach in santa cruz, California..i am working on a very large zebra painting which won't be done for a while..also planning to paint a birthday present for my granddaughter..maybe today...

30 in 30..Notre Dame Golden Dome
so this is a 10x8 oil painting of Notre Dame's Golden Dome. this is the first painting in leslie saeta's 30 paintings in thirty days challenge...it actually needs some tweaking..tomorrow..and then this will be donated to my friend Jodi for a school fundraiser. I grew up in South Bend..up the hill from leeper park..and I could climb to the very top of the tree in my back yard and see the golden dome across the treetops..i'm not sure how far away it actually was....probably at least ten miles..the very thought of climbing a tree at this point in my life gives me the willies...I have countless scars on my knees from falling out of many trees as a youngster!...I may post this again tomorrow but then again I need to be doing another small one..i have a large painting planned..zebras...I can't wait to get started!!!
