so this is for my friend Rosemary..Liesel is one of her grands..one of SEVEN!!..and i plan to paint all of them..i'm hoping Even Jeter Fauerbach will be pleased with this first one!!

so i just finished this....a friend from bar harbor, maine passed my name along to her friend..and.. next thing you know...a Christmas commission!!.. i think i captured her and this will be a surprise...i love painting animals!.. have two more in the pipeline.. love it!!

so this painting has been accepted into Randy Higbee's 6x6 exhibition in Orange County, California.  happy to be a part of it!!.. exhauasted from staying up til 1:30 watching the election returns...praying that our country will take a turn for the better!...and now.. back to working on some cubbie stuff!!

it's been a while!!!.. it's not that i haven't been painting..just too busy to post!!.. this is a painting for my friend rick...nikki's gone to heaven and i wanted to do a little remembrance to honor this fine pooch!!

so I really had fun with this!!..not sure it's done but almost!..i was inspired by a painting I saw in the Churchill hotel in London...I absolutely fell in love with this painting of a young man..but very oddly colored...lots of green in the shadows..but it worked somehow!...so this is my attempt at that color palatte...it took me the whole afternoon but I had so much fun!..trying to get the skin tones right with hints of surrounding colors..i will revisit this tomorrow and repost..see if you can notice the small differences...

so we decided to come to the lake a day early. since we share this place with the other side of the family, we get to come up every other week or so...painting and golfing..is what I thought..now it looks like it may be just painting...valpo is almost under water..there was standing water all the way up here..sometimes nearly impassable...and they've had so much rain up here the country club course is closed..probably most of the other courses as well..i'm fine with it..i did this painting of lyda..this is for a friend who bought my donation to the kids' commons last year..she looks like a keeper, doesn't she??.. i also did a wine-themed painting which i'm still tweaking..i have a wedding present to do and another kids commons project and then if I have time, more wine stuff..there is to be a big wine event in the carmel arts district in july and i'm gearing up for that..i have to paint a VERY large wine bottle..probably two feet high..not sure what it's called..but that's another thing on my plate..yikes!!

this is a little ditty i did today..looking toward my show at the southern Indiana center for the arts in Seymour..i went today to check out the space..found a lovely painted gourd by Martha sechler that I just had to have!..her show closes on friday and mine goes up on Tuesday...
