janet powers at work

here's janet demonstrating, teaching all the while...with my new friends lane and jackie looking on and sopping it up. we were in a glorious spot with a panoramic view of marsh and water. fortunately we could work out of the sun either here where janet demoed or up on the balcony where i joined many of the gals. it's good to be out of the sun, not only for our girlish complexions but for the painting process as well - things never look the same when you come in out of the glaring light and it's reallly hard to figure out values and color with the sun beating down. there was also a glorious breeze keeping the no-see-ums away. this was the second day and in the afternoon she had us do 3 twenty minute paintings, some of my most fun and probably best work. i won't be able to post any more of my stuff til next week when we drive back down. had to buy flowers today in hopes of planting tomorrow..if it ever stops raining...so probably won't get a daily painting done. we'll see..
